Math Investigation
In math class, I was assigned a math investigation that required me to investigate how I could use an A4 paper to generate a rectangular prism that would have the greatest volume while only modifying the hight of the box. This design was meant to be used by a chocolate factory to help them reduce the cost by fitting the greatest amount of chocolate possible in a box created using an A4 paper only. As I changed the hight of the box (X value), the length and width of the box changed. I found out that the hight of 2.846 produces the box that has the greatest volume. I used an application called GeoGebra to generate a graph that would represent all the different values of X that I investigated with. This investigation was quite beneficial to me because It taught me how to use my ingenuity to lower the cost of materials needed to sell the chocolate and how to reduce paper that is used to create the boxes in order to save our environment.
